Welcome
This is a website about MANO culture-Creating the world by hand. It has developed out of a growing dissatisfaction and despair about monoculture. Here I want to celebrate the world of handmade things-especially the legacy of art/craft and the making of things in a timeless way.
This is also a place where I want to celebrate all things that take time: Cooking a good meal, growing a garden, having a satisfying relationship. Our modern world moves very fast--faster than natural human pace. Machines move faster than we do, and we try to keep up, but we are not machines. And machines can't write poetry or notice the beauty of a face or wonder or laugh. So I will include thoughts about slowing down and images that reflect my love of looking at the small details of the world--details I might have missed had I been moving quickly through thelandscape.
With this website I am planting seeds and looking forward to seeing what will grow.
